As a crochet designer, I love using project books when working from other designers' patterns. They're perfect for keeping track of yarn choices, modifications, notes, and progress.

When I'm creating my own patterns, though, I work a little differently. I like to design with pen and paper, writing everything down as ideas come to me. Over time, I realised I was constantly recreating the same layouts—writing the same headings, searching for graph paper to sketch ideas, finding lined paper for pattern instructions, and trying to keep all my notes together.

Although digital tools and spreadsheets work well for many designers, I prefer to step away from the computer and work somewhere I feel relaxed, creative, and inspired.
